Matthew Wilkie is an independent video and film editor from East Kilbride. He started off editing YouTube videos as a hobby before branching out into a more film directed focus. Studying at the University of Stirling, he would find opportunities to edit short projects with his peers, before going on to specialise in editing on the UWS MA Filmmaking course. There, he cut three short films, I Called Her Lexi, As You Leave and Reckoning.
His work explores sensitive human stories, using the edit and a slow cutting style to allow the audience to appreciate the finer moments in the film. Matthew is on the lab to further find his editorial voice and cut another short film that enhances his craft in slow, patient and rewarding cinema.
