Missy McNaught is a writer-director from Leith, Edinburgh. She studied Filmmaking at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she wrote and directed several short films and developed a feature film script.
She is inspired by the Scottish women who surround her. Glamorous and eccentric, warm yet scathing, sharp-tongued natural-born storytellers, their way of speaking, full of wit and poignancy, has left a mark on her from a young age.
She has been a writer on projects such as Jessie, a short film written in Scots that is being used as an educational resource in secondary schools, as well as an upcoming short film created in collaboration with GMAC and WAC PRO.
She is currently working on a music video with band The Countess of Fife, led by Fay Fife of The Rezillos.
