Niamh West is an Irish producer based in Scotland and the founder of FlowerPunk Films, a production company dedicated to championing female, femme, and queer stories. She is passionate about bringing these vibrant narratives to life, especially within the realm of genre filmmaking.
Niamh has produced several award-winning short films, including HANGNAIL and Popper. She recently completed Hot Young Geek Seeks Blood-Sucking Freak, a project written and directed by Heath Virgoe, made in association with Randan Productions and supported by SQIFF and the National Lottery Community Fund. This film won the award for Best Scottish Film at the Scottish Queer International Film Festival. It has most recently screened at the BFI Future Film Festival, Glasgow Short Film Festival and BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival.
Niamh has also been accepted into GMAC and Screen Scotland's Little Pictures filmmaking programme for 2024/2025, where she will develop her first commissioned short film, Log Off, Loser! This project is scheduled for production in Summer 2025.
