Niamh West is an Irish producer based in Scotland and the founder of FlowerPunk Films, a production company dedicated to championing female, femme, and queer stories.
Niamh has produced several award-winning short films, including Hangnail, Popper and Hot Young Geek Seeks Blood-Sucking Freak, made in association with Randan Productions and supported by SQIFF and the National Lottery Community Fund. This film won the award for Best Scottish Film at the Scottish Queer International Film Festival. It has most recently screened at Glasgow Short Film Festival, BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival and Raindance Film Festival. It was shortlisted for Best British at the Iris Prize Film Festival, and screening on Channel 4 until October 2027.
Recently, Niamh participated in the GMAC and Screen Scotland's Little Pictures filmmaking programme for 24/25, where she produced short film, Log Off, Loser! Additionally, she joined the cohort for the 25/26 Sean Connery Talent Lab, a talent scheme run by the NFTS, and produced two short films, My Little Blue Heart and The Angel in the House, both executive-produced by BBC Film. The projects are to be on the festival circuit in the summer of 2026.
