Rachel MacLean is a Scottish writer/director based in Edinburgh and recent graduate from Screen Academy Scotland's MA Film masters, where she specialised in directing and wrote and directed her graduation film Horizons (2024). She previously graduated with a Joint Honours degree in English Literature/ History of Art from the University of Glasgow.
Rachel is drawn to stories that explore close, intricate relationships, often between family members, and she has a particular interested in reflecting on the experiences of women. She's excited to be exploring some of these themes in her most recent script written as part of the lab.
