Rebecca Duncan is the Course Leader for the new Costume Design MFA at the National Film and Television School. A Fine Art graduate who transitioned into costume in the 1990s, Rebecca spent her formative four years working at the costume house Angels. It was there that she first understood the true mechanics of the role, building a practical foundation that shaped her entire career and her approach to the industry.
Her extensive production career spans both large-scale international co-ordination and department leadership. Notably, she was the key costume supervisor in India on Tarsem’s film The Fall, collaborating with the late designer Eiko Ishioka. And with Vicki Russell she has worked on several British independent films, including Colour Me Kubrick, Keeping Mum and Mum’s List. As a designer, Rebecca has gone on to lead departments on major contemporary series, including Criminal Record and Invasion for Apple TV, and the global franchise expansion NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Alongside her production work, Rebecca is a trained mentor dedicated to department
culture, leadership, and equipping the next generation of designers with the practical and psychological tools needed for modern industry practice.
