Rob Speranza is an American film producer and line producer from Brooklyn, New York.
In 2014 and 2015, Rob produced feature film Arthur and Merlin (wr/dir. Marco van Belle), an origin story about how King Arthur and the wizard Merlin originally met. On a low budget, Rob helped engineer this action/adventure fantasy for a family audience and has helped create a unique film for a wide audience.
Rob has also produced feature horror film Entity with wr/dir/prod Steve Stone, starring Dervla Kirwan and Charlotte Riley, now internationally and domestically released by Metrodome Entertainment/Arclight and Fangoria/Brainstorm in the USA and Canada.
In 2011, Rob line produced festival horror hit Inbred (dir. Alex Chandon – www.inbredmovie.com) starring Jo Hartley and on international release with Anchor Bay and Arclight, and Liverpool feature ‘Small Creatures’ (wr/dir Martin Wallace), nominated in 2012 for the Michael Powell Award for Best Film and Best Performance at the Edinburgh IFF in Edinburgh, Scotland. It also is the winner of many other international film festival awards. In late 2012 Rob worked as a production manager/ line producer on feature film Dementamania starring Sam Robertson, Vincent Regan and Kal Penn. This film was released in the summer of 2014.
Rob has also produced 16 short films with various directors and writers including Matt Taabu, Sam Donovan, Sue Everett and actor/director Hugo Speer, winning over 60 international awards. He also produced short film The Girl and the Gondola with wr/dir Abbé Robinson in Venice, Italy.
Rob is a skilled budgeter, scheduler and project and production manager. He knows how to deliver film projects on-budget and on-time. Commissioned by the UK Film Council seven times, Rob is well-versed with attracting funding, writing bids and applying to tenders. He is a skilled screening and event organizer.
