Ruby Abbiss is a Welsh-born, Watford-raised writer/director who relishes in sticky, genre-inflected worlds and character-led stories that explore systems of power and neglect through an uncanny lens.
In 2024, Ruby graduated from the National Film and Television School’s MA in Screenwriting. As a writer, her credits include award-winning short films Embodied and Going Down, as well as animated short Bubble Boy (long-listed for a Yugo BAFTA Student Award) and the game Morgan: Metal Detective (selected at SXSW Sydney).
Alongside directing her own scripts, she is increasingly focused on directing projects from other writers and expanding into episodic television.
