Simon Williamson is a Cinematographer who brings a passion for creating a connection between the screen and the viewer through his love of visual storytelling. Simon began his career in the creative industries as a music producer and DJ. Simon had his music released on vinyl and CD all over the world alongside DJ’ing at many big festivals. During this time Simon learnt the importance of creating a bond between creatives and the audience, whilst appreciating the need to shape a narrative experience through music. These lessons were quickly transferred to his cinematography journey whilst learning about cameras and filming techniques.
Having started his camera career working on music videos and branded content, Simon has now focused his attention towards a passion for narrative/scripted film and TV. Shooting a number of short films and recently a limited series crowd funded TV show, A True Mismatch; now available on Amazon Prime. He’s also picked up a Best Cinematography award for his work on short film, Need.
Simon understands every project is different and that collaboration and teamwork help deliver the best visual for a project. Simon is always ready to meet the challenge, big or small.
