Production Manager roles are at the heart of all film and television productions and are integral to their success. This course provides a thorough overview of how to manage a factual or documentary production and provides those attending with an introduction to the principles and practices of the work involved.
With industry experts and practical exercises this course aims to provide a detail understanding of the Production Management role.
The course would be based around a simulated production from which would stem scenarios to illustrate each skills area. Throughout the course, you will build a 'production toolkit' for use in practice.
This course is 4 days long and have take place in person two days across two weeks. The dates below are what is currently scheduled:

- The role, function, and responsibilities of the Production Manager
- Scheduling, budgeting and cashflows
- Preparing cost reports and progress reports
- Managing the production and its personnel including contracting cast & crew
- Management, leadership, and negotiation
- Music, archive, third party clearances and copyright
- Production insurance
- Health and Safety and risk assessments
- Overseas filming
- Post-production
- Delivery Requirements
This course is aimed at experienced Production Coordinators, Junior Production Managers ready to step-up or newly promoted Production Managers.
You will need to be well-organised, effective under pressure, resourceful, a problem solver, computer literate, financially minded and have good leadership skills.
You may also have a background in business/financial management, or a job with transferable skills and be looking for a career change.
