Film4 Director Farhana Bhula Joins National Film And Television School's Board Of Governors

The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Film4 Director Farhana Bhula to its Board of Governors.

Since joining Film4 in January 2022, Farhana has played a pivotal role in shaping the division’s slate of acclaimed and upcoming projects. She has overseen celebrated features including NFTS graduate Molly Manning Walker’s breakout debut How To Have Sex, Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers, as well as highly anticipated titles such as Mark Jenkin’s Rose of Nevada, Oliver Hermanus’ The History of Sound and Philippa Lowthorpe’s H is for Hawk

Alongside her commissioning work, Farhana spearheaded the creation of Future Takes in partnership with the BFI. Now in its second iteration, the initiative is designed to support and nurture emerging creative talent, cementing her reputation as a passionate advocate for new voices and diverse storytelling.

As a member of the NFTS Board of Governors, Farhana will bring her extensive industry knowledge and track record of talent development to help steer the School as it embarks on an exciting new period of growth and expansion. Her priorities will include strengthening pathways for emerging filmmakers into the industry, encouraging closer collaboration and ensuring the NFTS continues to adapt to the ever-evolving needs of the screen industry.

The NFTS Board of Governors is comprised of senior leaders from film, television, games and higher education. Members include Kate Phillips, BBC Chief Content Officer, Charlotte Moore, CEO Left Bank Pictures & EVP at Sony Pictures Television, Julian Bellamy, MD of ITV Studios, Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer at Sky, Andrew Macdonald, co-founder of DNA Films and Scott Forrest, Chief Publishing Officer at EA.
