NFTS Games Design Graduate Makes Prestigious 30 Under 30 List!
MCV/DEVELOP, the leading media outlet for the UK games industry has released its highly coveted '30 Under 30' list, and The National Film and Television School is proud to see award-winning Games Design and Development MA graduate Rafif Kalantan included!
The list puts the spotlight on the best and brightest young talent the industry has to offer. Graduating from the NFTS in March 2023, Rafif’s graduation game Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions went on to win her a Student BAFTA shortly after in July. A meaningful accolade, making Rafif the first female director, first non-European and first Arab winner in the games category. The award was also the first Student BAFTA for the NFTS Games department.
Following the win, Rafif has been working on several yet to be unveiled projects with different teams as well as working as lead narrative designer of Saudi-based indie studio, Starvania Studio. She is also focusing on volunteer work to help build passion and skill for people wanting to enter the games industry within the Middle East and North Africa regions, along with a secret initiative in the making.
Rafif said; “It is an honour to be selected amongst many incredible individuals on such an esteemed list. It is more important now than ever to represent Arabs and Middle Easterners on such a scale to showcase emerging talent from the region and to have the space to tell our stories and experiences.”
The National Film and Television School is incredibly proud of what Rafif has achieved in her first year since graduating and we’re excited to see what she achieves next!
