About the Summer Sessions
We are excited to announce the return of our popular Access NFTS Summer Sessions for 2026!
These FREE hands on sessions are open to young people aged 11–16 and will run throughout August at our Beaconsfield campus. Each week, participants can choose from at least four different 2 hour workshops, each exploring a unique career pathway in the Film, TV and Games industries.
Games Design | Make your OWN game!
Games! We play them everyday. Whether consciously or subconsciously. However, to
create a game for others to play takes an extra layer of consideration.
What goes into making a game? How long does it take to make something playable?
I don’t have any programming or art experience, can I make a game? (Yes! And I’ll
prove it)
These are the questions we’ll be exploring in the Game Development workshop.
Where all attendants will create a small game in real life and play it in the session.
We’ll talk about the process of digitising games, but the core focus will be making
something together.
Session Details
Across the session we will:
- Play a short game with a ball and build upon it as a group. Gaging and understanding what makes a “rule” within a game.
- Discussing games and what goes into creating one.
- See what it takes to make a “Paper Prototype”
- Getting into small groups and creating some games in person.
- Showcasing those games to a game developer who will play and teach how to improve upon the creation process.
- Get advice on how to take games further.
