Tuesday 19th March

11:15am - 12:15pm - Post Production Demystified | Book your place

Post Production is the final stage in programme making. During this time footage is cut, all music, sound and necessary commentary are mixed and any visual effects are added. It's a critical stage, during which key creative decisions are made that deliver a successful production but what does it actually involve and how it is coordinated?

In this session Jonathan Seal, Offline Editor at Blazing Griffin, will explore the workflow and roles involved in Post Production for Factual TV.

2:15pm - 3:15pm - Shooting for the Edit | Book your place

Filmmaker Jack Cocker (Darren McGarvey: Mind the Gap, Meet You at the Hippos, Imagine - Rupert Everett: Born to be Wilde) began directing documentaries in 2003 and has since made 25+ films about artists, writers, musicians, photographers, architects and actors. His strong editorial eye and excellent storytelling instincts have led to him winning four Scottish BAFTAs, two Royal Television Society awards and a Grierson.

Join him as he shares advice and tips on how thinking about the edit while you are shooting will help you capture the footage the editor needs to tell the story.

Wednesday 20th March

12:30pm – 1:30pm - In Conversation with Rebus Director Fiona Walton |  Book your place

Join Fiona as she shares her experience of working as a director in continuing drama (Casualty, Waterloo Roads, River City) and then moving into High End TV productions such as Annika, Shetland and the upcoming Rebus. This session will be hosted by Alison Goring, Head of NFTS Scotland.
