Emmy and three times BAFTA nominated filmmaker and artist Osbert Parker uses innovative mixed media techniques that combine photo cut-out animation with objects and live action, to create one-of-a-kind imaginary landscapes in his award-winning short films, commercials, TV programmes and online content.

Emmy and three times BAFTA nominated filmmaker and artist Osbert Parker uses innovative mixed media techniques that combine photo cut-out animation with objects and live action, to create one-of-a-kind imaginary landscapes in his award-winning short films, commercials, TV programmes and online content. 

Recent work includes the main title sequence for Black Twitter: A People’s History on Hulu. He directed the Emmy nominated and Clio award-winning main titles for Stephen King’s Lisey’s Story, Apple TV+/Bad Robot in collaboration with Karin Fong (Imaginary Forces). He has created animations for Disney+ Growing Up, the Channel 4 hit cult series, Misfits and Melina Matsoukas (Queen & Slim) MTV’s ident. Timeline - an artist film loop for the Migration Museum exhibition, Departures won the 2021 Creative Circle award, and was Cannes Lion shortlisted for Screen & Events. Life on the Move won the 2019 Arts and Humanities Research Council Best Social Media Award and was nominated for the Inspiration Award. 

He consistently works on a wide range of industry and personal projects and his independent short animated films continue to receive great acclaim on the international film festival circuit. Film Noir was nominated for BAFTA best short animated film and the Cannes Palme d'Or. Yours Truly won best short animated film at the British Animation Awards and was also nominated for a BAFTA. 

With 35 years of experience working in the creative arts industries, his TV and commercial clients include Apple TV+, Disney+, Hulu, BBC, Channel 4, ITV, MTV, Coca-Cola, Nike, Budweiser and The World Wildlife Fund. Alongside his freelance work he delivers masterclasses and international animation workshops in Europe, South America and the UK. Committed to helping new generations of filmmakers, he is a Senior Fellow of The Higher Education Academy and a visiting animation lecturer at The National Film and Television School.
