Online Masterclass Q&A exploring working in Games Design. Xu He is a Game designer and indie developer with nine years of experience in Game design. She joined ustwo games in 2023 as a senior designer, where she worked on Monument Valley 3, which was released in December 2024 to great acclaim. Previously, Xu worked at mobile game studios Netspeak Games, where she was technical designer for Sunshine Days, and at Gamegou, where she was Lead Game Designer for Top Football Manager. In addition to her studio work, she develops indie games for both mobile and PC. Her released titles include Cat Bounce – Physics Puzzles, Memory Detective, and Disconnected.
Megan Matthews is a Game designer specializing in Level Design and accessibility. They are a certified Accessible Player Experiences Practitioner, trained to identify and solve game accessibility barriers. They have worked in Game design across mobile, PC and console titles. Megan has previously worked as Environment designer for The Garden Path and as Junior Level Designer for Playtra Games on Grid Force - Mask Of The Goddess. At ustwo Games they have worked on Desta: The Memories Between, and Monument Valley 3. They also volunteer as a Game Design mentor.
With a background in fine art, Andre Van Rooijen has been leading and coaching game art teams from concept to release on original IP as well as licensed products for brands like Adidas and Sony across all major interactive platforms, including PC, Consoles and Mobile, before moving into higher education to teach the future generation of game developers.
