Alison began her career in the ITV company HTV Wales, a busy studio which encompassed all genres of television production before moving to London and becoming a freelance Vision Mixer.

Her work has encompassed all types of programmes, each requiring specialist skills, from the pressure of live Outside Broadcasts, Sport and News and Current affairs to the precision cutting of Drama, Situation Comedy and Music. Her credits include coverage of the London Olympics in 2012, Royal funerals and events, Question Time and Mrs Brown’s Boys theatre performances of two hours of unscripted comedy.

Alison has a passion for teaching with a keen desire to pass on knowledge and experience gained from over 40 years within the industry. This encompasses the importance and uniqueness of the Vision Mixing role and how artistic flair and a gift for storytelling can greatly enhance the viewer’s experience and production values of the programme.

Since 2023 Alison has also been Vision Mixing tutor for a BBC Apprenticeship Course running here at the NFTS.
