His scores and films have been awarded and nominated at festivals across the world. Blending contemporary electronics with orchestral, jazz, and world influences, his distinctive musical landscapes deepen and elevate cinematic storytelling.
His acclaimed documentary work includes Getting Away With Murder(s), the Best Score nominated Speer Goes to Hollywood, Postcards from the 48%, The First Film, Modern British Slavery (Channel 4), All the Wild Horses, Breaking Boundaries, Joy Womack: The White Swan, and The Marbles (Opening Film, Central Scotland Documentary Festival 2025).
Barnett’s narrative credits include BBC Films’ Borrowed Time and the BAFTA-nominated Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, along with international features such as A Dose of Happiness and Yohanna. A classically trained MMus graduate, he has recorded with studio and symphony orchestras at Abbey Road, Air-Edel, Air Lyndhurst, Budapest, and Sofia.
