James Mavor has worked as a screenwriter for many years with credits include Doctor Finlay, Monarch of the Glen and Split Second a TV movie with Clive Owen and Helen McCrory. He has adapted Ian Rankin’s work for television in Reichenbach Falls and Doors Open starring Stephen Fry and Douglas Henshall.

Until recently, he led Screen Academy Scotland’s postgraduate MA Screenwriting, Kino Eyes and MFA Advanced Film Practice programmes building bridges between academia and industry.

Current projects include setting up a writing residency in France and a feature film Hexagon, a musical comedy about a fractious six-piece acapella singing group on a chaotic comeback tour of Estonia. James is represented by Jane Villers at Sayle Screen.
