Rhys Aaron Lewis is an award-winning writer-director from London. With a passion for comedy, Rhys’s work explores quirky, original stories that spotlight diverse characters. His 2024 short film, Run Like We, a coming-of-age comedy set during the London Olympics, was produced by Amazon Prime Video and the National Film and Television School. The film has screened at several BAFTA and Oscar qualifying festivals, winning three awards for Best Film and multiple audience awards. His most recent film, Beach Toys, a psychological horror comedy set in Italy, was financed by the BFI and stars Jonathan Ajayi (Alien Earth, Noughts + Crosses), and is set for release in 2026. Prior to directing comedy, Rhys worked as a documentary filmmaker, making films with the BFI, The Guardian and freelancing as a producer director at the BBC for three years.
