A multi-camera director needs the ability to interpret a script creatively and construct action and story sequences whilst manipulating images from several cameras simultaneously.
Be it a simple interview or the excitement of a rock band. In addition, a multi-camera director must have the presence and personality to be able to lead a studio crew.
Previous course participants have said:
'This for me was the ultimate course in terms of what I aspire to do in the future. I think to be completely assured as a multi-camera director.'
'David G. Croft, the studio team and staff were very informative and encouraging. The tasks were challenging but great fun and the facilities were of a very good standard. I moved into a directing role very shortly after attending the course which no doubt contributed to me gaining the position.'
'Gaining practical experience of multi-camera directing was an invaluable aspect of the course. Doing this taught me a lot about the various roles that are involved in multi-camera productions and how to go about preparing for them as a director.'
On this practical course, delivered in partnership with City of Glasgow College, students will be introduced to the principles of multi-camera directing by undertaking exercises including how to direct music. Students will also experience the roles of vision mixing, floor managing and operating studio cameras.
