Boarberry Farm, Con-Tractors, Kirin’s Chosen, Oubliette, Ownek, Project Plainsight, Soul Pianist, and Tulou are the result of a year’s hard work from the next generation of game developers. Under the expert guidance of industry professionals including NFTS Head of Games Andre Van Rooijen and guest mentors including Manos Agianiotakis (Lead Game Designer at nDreams), Chloe Bostock (Cinematics Artist at Build a Rocket Boy), and Alexander Taylor (Lead Cinematic Designer at Firesprite), these games promise to offer a unique gaming experience.

This exciting showcase will sit alongside popular AAA titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Just Dance 2025 Edition, as well as the most anticipated indie games of the year.

Close collaborations with fellow students on courses across the School including Composing, Location Sound Recording, Cinematography, Screenwriting and Visual Effects have helped to form the projects into immersive and engaging games that can hold their own side-by-side with games made by established indie studios.

As a key part of the project, the NFTS Games MA students team up with the Marketing, Distribution, Sales and Exhibition MA students who use their skills to create marketing assets for each of the games and will be supporting them at MCM Comic Con x EGX this weekend - so keep an eye out for stickers, pin badges and other merch and prizes!

We invite gamers and industry professionals to visit our students in the Rezzed Zone to play these eight exceptional games and meet the teams behind them!

Project Plainsight | Aaron Moore

A stylised, low-poly 3D first-person arena shooter set in a stark, neo-futuristic world of black and white. Players face off in arena-style duels, choosing sides between two rival factions: the rag-tag law enforcers of the Department of L.I.G.H.T and the cunning criminal network of the Triumvirate. In this sharp-edged world, players employ light-based camouflage to run, fight and vanish in plain sight, turning every moment into a strategic battle for survival. Nothing in life is black-or-white, but when it comes to Project Plainsight, some things are.

Games made at the National Film and Television School are frequently recognised at festivals and awards. Two National Film and Television School student-made games have gone on to win BAFTA Student Awards following their showcases at EGX. Eros Xavier’s Love Solutions designed and developed by Rafif Kalantan won in 2023 and There Was A Home designed and developed by Wid Alhajjaji was awarded at this year’s ceremony in July. 2023’s Morgan Metal Detective was selected for London Games Festival and recent graduate-formed indie games company Beyond Tomorrow Studios was awarded grant support from the UK Games Fund!

It’s not too late to get your EGX tickets and come along, play the games and meet the talented next generation of game developers.
