Mastering essential sports media skills across six dynamic modules, you'll learn how to film and edit sports programmes as well as discover the art of pitching your ideas to sports broadcasters.
This unique diploma is run in partnership with IMG Studios and offers students the opportunity to complete a paid four week work experience placement. Gaining this experience from industry experts ensures students graduate with the confidence needed to hit a home run in the world of sports.

- How much experience do you need to apply for the course?
No previous experience is needed to apply. You will need to be at least 19+ years old when the course starts and have a proven interest in sports or live production as well as an ability to work as part of a team. You'll be practically minded and have a good general education, and have an aptitude and passion for editing and/or camera work.
If you have any experience in editing and/or camera work, please submit a portfolio link alongside your application. (Please note this is not a compulsory requirement).
- Are scholarships available?
There is an IMG scholarship available for applicants from under-represented groups, and a limited number of BBC scholarships. If you're successful at gaining a place on the course, you will be contacted by our funding team with details on how to apply for one of these scholarships.
- How long is the Sports Production course?
The Sports Production Diploma is a one-year full-time course taking place during the week from Monday to Friday 9.30am - 5.30pm. From specialist workshops to the final graduation project, this diploma is your personal training ground for sports broadcasting excellence.
