The selected student projects were chosen from 800 submissions across 109 schools in 37 countries, covering narrative film, animation, documentary, 360 videos, Experiential VR, Immersive Installations, VR Games, and PC Games. BAFTA members voted on the finalists, ensuring a diverse and competitive selection.

In 2023, NFTS celebrated a double win in the documentary and games categories with Happy - The Elephant in the Courtroom and Eros Xavier's Love Solutions.

The winners will be revealed at the Yugo BAFTA Student Awards finale ceremony hosted by Elliot Knight (The Boys, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III) in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, on Friday 12 July. This event will also commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Student BAFTA Awards.
