Directing Television Drama is for people who may already have some directing experience and want to further develop their skills, knowledge and confidence in the world of premium drama. Whether your goal is to expand and enhance your existing skills or to make the transition from short films, documentaries, commercials, indie features or studio directing, this course will allow you to explore the essential craft, technical and professional aspects of the role. You will get a ‘real world’ understanding of the lifestyle and work of a drama director, and how to successfully approach this demanding and challenging job.

About the Tutor: A graduate of Central School of Drama, Griff Rowland began his film-making career directing and producing arts documentaries for the BBC. Since moving into drama, he has directed S4C’s award winning series Cowbois ac Injans, cult detective drama, Hinterland (BBC FOUR/S4C), Coronation Street (ITV), including  Christmas Day hour long episode; Hollyoaks (CH4), Holby City (BBC ONE) and Russell T Davies’s Wizards vs Aliens (BBC/Freemantle). He is currently adapting his award-winning novel (Tir na n -og) into a screenplay and directing EastEnders.
