Login to meet course leader Simon Broadley, and senior tutor Martin McManus, for an introduction to the new one year MA course.
This online open evening offers a chance to learn more about this innovative new course, which replaces the former Directing and Producing Television Entertainment MA to reflect the rapid changes taking place across the television and content creation industries.
Designed for the next generation of format creators and producers, the course prepares graduates for the growing convergence between traditional broadcast television, streaming platforms, and the creator economy. Across six practical modules, students learn how to devise, develop and produce original unscripted formats for television, streaming services, and platforms including YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.
If you want to shape the future of unscripted entertainment - whether on television or online - this course is designed to help you get there.
During the webinar, Simon and Martin will discuss the structure of the course, the opportunities available to students, and the skills required to succeed in today's evolving unscripted landscape. Attendees will discover how the course combines creative development with hands-on production, covering every stage of the process from idea generation and format development through to casting, shooting, editing and publishing original content.
Students work in both NFTS's industry-standard 4K television studio and on location, gaining practical experience while exploring the latest AI tools that are transforming development and production workflows. The course also provides opportunities to learn directly from leading industry professionals responsible for some of the world's most successful unscripted formats.
Graduates leave with a portfolio of original, scalable and returnable formats, a strong understanding of how unscripted content is developed, produced and sold, and valuable industry connections built through dedicated networking opportunities with producers, production companies and influential creators.
The evening will also include information about funding opportunities including scholarships and bursaries, as well as guidance on the application process.
