How to develop, pitch and position your work in the industry.
This course is designed to give new and emerging screenwriters, and other filmmakers interested in screenwriting, a taste of the work and process of screenwriting before you sit down at the blank page and write your first draft.
Across 2 weeks (3 tuition days / 7 writing days), you will learn about the various stages and documents your ideas will have to go through if they’re to make it to the screen. You will learn how to pitch and develop ideas for both High End TV and Continuing Drama from a highly experienced, award-winning screenwriter. You will discover that successful pitching is only the start of the work.
You will also have the opportunity to choose the document that is the next step in developing your idea and write it, moving your project forward — or gain experience in writing one for an existing Continuing Drama. And yes… there will be notes, because there are always notes.
Key Aims – You will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of each document, its purpose, and the key elements it needs.
