This 6-day screenwriting workshop is aimed at writers who would like to develop a concept for a feature-length script or TV pilot and strengthen their stories before embarking on the journey of writing the actual script. By developing their craft they also improve their chances of gaining commissions to write scripts for feature films and television drama in the future.
All aspects of the craft such as plot, characterization, theme, scene design and dialogue will be covered through lectures, however the participants are expected to develop their stories and give feedback on their peers' work.
Throughout the workshop participants should be prepared to work long hours in order to gain the maximum amount they can from the course. Overnight and weekend writing (which separates the course days) assignments by all participants will be part of the workshop in order to gain the maximum benefit from the course.
By the end of this hands-on workshop, the participants will have gained an in-depth understanding of the process of writing for film and TV, developed their characters and mapped out their stories so that they are ready to complete the first drafts of their scripts.
