The role of Production Assistant is an ideal entry level position for those wanting to pursue a career in film and high-end television (HETV) drama production and is a central one within the production department, providing support to the producers, production managers and the wider production team.
This three day course will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to help you secure a role as a production assistant in drama / film and provide a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the job.
Delivered over Zoom, each session will be fully interactive and involve practical tasks and written exercises to give you hands on experience of the role, based on examples of best practice.
Who Is This Course For?
No previous experience in the film and tv industry is necessary and we actively encourage applicants from groups who are currently under represented in the film and television industries. Please see further details under 'Fees & Funding' below.

• Indie Film / Studio Pictures / HETV – what does it all mean and what is the difference?
• Overview of crew roles
• The Production Team: roles and responsibilities
• Overview of the strategic thinking undertaken by the production team
• Breaking down a script and production planning
• How to read a Call Sheet

BURSARY INFORMATION
A limited number of bursaries are available for all of our short courses. If you wish to apply for a bursary to contribute to the costs of your course, please read the bursary guidelines below carefully to confirm your eligibility. Please do not apply to a course unless you are sure you meet the bursary eligibility criteria, or if you are able to pay for the course by other means.
Please apply as far in advance of the course date as possible to give yourself the best chance of securing a supported place as we may not be able to accommodate all applications. We aim to advise successful applicants no later than 10 working days prior to the course start date.
