This short course will consist of practical workshops that will focus on world-building and creating short animated sequences with 2D Digital drawing techniques. You will be designing an environment and characters to inhabit it. Using frame-by-frame animation, you will explore an imaginary playground where your characters are brought to life.
Day 1:
- Introduction to 2D Drawn Animation (presentation and demonstration)
- Warm up exercise
- Exercise ‘Playground’
- Brief of main short project (demonstration)
- Development and Concept frames
Day 2
- Pipeline (presentation)
- Exercise ‘Aesthetics’
- Backgrounds
- Keyframes
Day 3:
- Animating
- Breakdowns
Day 4:
- Animating
- Colouring
- Add sound
- Render and Review
This course will be well suited for participants from beginners to experienced level who enjoy drawing.
(But you don't need to be an incredible artist - all skill levels are welcome!)
Freelance Rate: £750
Corporate Rate: £1700
Bursaries, supported by Screen Scotland, to contribute to the costs of attending this course may be available to those who are eligible.
