Film lighting is undergoing a period of rapid transformation, driven by significant technological advancements across the industry. The rise of LED-based lighting and increasingly intelligent workflow systems has introduced a constant stream of new equipment, terminology, and working practices, reshaping how productions approach lighting on a daily basis.
While this evolution presents exciting opportunities, it also places new demands on lighting professionals to continually expand their skills. At the same time, it can widen the knowledge gap between production teams and crew, leaving many navigating unfamiliar language, complex requests, and shifting expectations.
This course has been designed to bridge that gap. It provides production personnel - regardless of experience level - with a practical platform to better understand modern lighting practices, decode industry terminology, and confidently engage with lighting teams. Over two days, participants will gain valuable insight into today’s lighting landscape, develop a clearer understanding of workflows, and leave equipped with answers to the questions they encounter in their roles.
The course will be delivered by Henry Howes the Technical Marketing Director of Panalux, a former Gaffer with many years of experience across a range of mediums in the industry and a wide ranging and holistic view of the industry.
