The difference between a successful and a chaotic shoot is an effective AD Team, armed with a well-crafted shoot schedule.
In this session you’ll learn essential strategies in building a schedule that pushes your production to maximum shoot efficiency, with the respect and confidence that ensures each department is communicating; firing on all cylinders.
Course Tutor:
Christiaan Faberij de Jonge has been working in the film industry for over 25 years, climbing the ladder from Set PA on a Roger Corman kickboxing film to managing the set as 1st AD on some of the UK’s leading Film and TV productions (The Witcher, The Diplomat, Starve Acre, Accident Man 2) as comfortable managing Stunts, VFX, SFX and large-scale, complex set-pieces as he is with indie, drama or comedy projects; appreciating that every scene has unique challenges that require a fresh approach and a steady attitude.
To create a schedule that effectively embraces each department’s demands and deliver an episode of TV or a Feature Film that is well-made and artful is a unique challenge.
Careful consideration must be factored into each draft to reflect the changing locations and actor’s availabilities, plus there are further tried and tested systems that ensure that your plan distributes the workload in such a way as to enhance your chances of success.
If your schedule needs some fresh eyes, or you don’t even know where to start; experienced 1st AD tutor Christiaan Faberij de Jonge can follow up the session by reviewing your script and schedule in more detail and consult you on how best to plan your shoot.
