Here’s a glimpse into the documentaries we have on show this year, including: 'Beyond the North Winds: A Post Nuclear Reverie', 'City of Children', 'In My Own Skin', 'Miu', 'Mother Wolf', 'Playhouse', 'Ravens' and Salvation'.
We are all very proud of NFTS Directing Fiction MA alumnus, Michael Pearce who along with producer, Lauren Dark, won the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer award for their debut feature film, Beast at last night’s BAFTAs.
Welcome to our latest NFTS story, a series of blogs featuring our alumni talking about where they were before they came to the School and where they are now (follow the series by using the #NFTSStories hashtag across Twitter and Instagram). Laurie Nunn graduated from the Screenwriting MA in 2013 and has since worked as a writer for Theatre and TV, including creating and writing the recent Netflix smash hit Sex Education.
The NFTS cinema was filled with appreciative laughter both during the screening of BAFTA nominated film Stan & Ollie, and during the Q&A which followed with its director Jon S Baird and its editor, NFTS graduate, Úna Ní Dhonghaíle ACE.
The UK Cinema Association has confirmed plans to continue its role as ‘Key Partner Sponsor’ for the National Film and Television School (NFTS), committing to sponsorship of £150,000 per annum over the next two years including support for two scholarships for students on the School’s Marketing Distribution Sales and Exhibition MA, with those two scholars for 2019 today announced as Louise Giadom and Collette Madden.
On their first day at the NFTS new students were treated to an inspiring masterclass with multi BAFTA winning writer-director Sally Wainwright, creator of hugely successful series such as Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley.
