Content Tabs

This comprehensive course explores all key aspects of feature film and television drama concept and story development. It also looks at scriptwriting for film and TV and is designed specifically to help writers who are looking to move from other creative media, such as novel-writing and writing for theatre, to grasp the essentials of the writing for film and TV. Starting with concept generation, it includes guidance on writing a compelling synopsis, treatment, and other vital documents needed to effectively communicate a story to producers and stakeholders.

Also covering the structure, layout and formatting of film and TV screenplays, the course is designed to build a writer’s confidence and competence, enabling them to create original feature film and TV dramas, complete with pitch documents, scripts and support materials. By completing this course, participants will be equipped to confidently approach producers and funding bodies with clarity and professionalism.
Writers will also be advised on how to refine their ideas and materials and how to prepare their work for specific opportunities such as pitching, entering competitions and approaching industry.
