Having directed film and television for over thirty years, and authored the book ' The Film Director Prepares', Jonas Grimas will explain, simplify and de-mystify the abstract elements of filmmaking - and share a string of his secrets.
Previous course participants have said:
'Jonas was absolutely incredible to listen to and I learned more across two days with him, than I have in years about directing. So worthwhile ..'
'Thank you for bringing Jonas to NFTS! He was so inspiring and I feel like I have learned so much from the two days with him. Worth every penny!'
This course covers:
- What a director is actually there to do (you’ll be surprised!)
- How to approach the script and how to fix it if it doesn’t work
- How to cast actors
- How to work out a visual style and give you the tools to work out a one-shot solution for any scene
- How to direct actors and make them give you their best performance by doing virtually nothing
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to get involved in filmmaking in any function at any level - including actors
