Overview
This course will be delivered face to face. TV Scriptwriter David Allison will take students on an intensive 2 day journey to turn their ideas into a pilot script. We’ll be asking what stories work in the medium of TV, how to hone their idea, and how to pitch it, as well as exploring how to create original characters and compelling story arcs. Finally, we’ll look at the structure of a scene and how to ruthlessly edit to make their story focussed and dynamic. The course will cover About the Tutor David Allison is a TV Scriptwriter and occasional playwright from Leeds with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Most recently, he wrote on the latest series of the ITV/Netflix show MARCELLA. His own original series include horror series BEDLAM (Sky) and comedy drama BOY MEETS GIRL (ITV). David has taught at the Arvon Foundation, Central St Martin’s in London and at Leeds Beckett University, and is passionate about diverse Northern voices being represented in the industry.
